Community Guidelines
Effective 5 October 2026
The idea
PlayerTap is for golfers meeting golfers — the person you just played with, the fourth who filled out your group. These guidelines keep it that way. They are part of our Terms of Service, and breaking them can get content removed, an account closed, or a card deactivated.
Be yourself
- Use your real name and your own photos. Don’t pretend to be someone else, a club, or a brand.
- Be honest about your game. Nobody minds a 24 handicap; everybody minds finding out it was a 4.
- Only link to accounts and businesses that are yours.
Treat people like playing partners
- No harassment, threats, bullying or unwanted sexual attention — in messages, on your profile, or on the course.
- No hate: nothing that attacks people for their race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or any similar characteristic.
- No sexual or graphic content, and nothing that exploits or endangers children.
- Some golfers on PlayerTap are under 18. If you’re an adult, keep any contact with a younger player about golf, in the open, and never sexual — and don’t ask them for photos, money, bets or to meet alone.
- Don’t share anyone’s private information — their phone number, address, or messages — without their permission.
- If someone removes you as a connection or blocks you, leave it there.
Keep it golf, not a sales channel
- Showing your own business or work on your profile is welcome. Messaging your connections with promotions, chain messages or pitches is not.
- No scams, fake giveaways, phishing or misleading links.
- Don’t collect people’s details, scrape profiles, or use automated tools on PlayerTap.
Cards and bag tags
- Only activate a card or tag that’s yours. If you activate one by mistake, tell us and we’ll sort it out.
- Don’t copy, clone or re-program a card, and don’t put PlayerTap links on other tags or products.
- Tap cards with people who want to connect — not to their phone without asking.
Bets
Bet tracking is a scorecard for friendly side games between adults (18+, or older where the law says so), and only where that’s legal. PlayerTap doesn’t take bets, hold money or decide who won — it’s a shared note. Don’t use it to run pools or books, pressure anyone into a bet, or chase someone who doesn’t owe you, and follow your payment app’s own rules when you settle up.
Organizations
- Keep your organization’s page accurate, and only link to things it actually offers.
- Use what people send through your inquiry form to answer them — not to add them to a mailing list they didn’t ask for, and never to sell or pass on.
- Invite only people who expect it.
Stay safe
Reporting and enforcement
If someone is making you uncomfortable, block them: it removes the connection and conversation, stops them connecting with you again, and they aren’t told. For anything serious — threats, impersonation, a stolen card, or content that breaks these guidelines — email hello@playertap.app with the profile link and what happened.
We look at every report. Depending on what happened, we may remove content, deactivate a card, suspend or close an account, or involve the authorities. We don’t have to warn someone first when the situation is serious.
